Sisi refusing to shake hands




During his speech at the Japanese parliament on Monday morning, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi presented a position between embarrassment and wit when he spoke in the Japanese parliament. Sisi extended his hands shaking hands with the Speaker of Parliament when he invited him to the floor, leaving Sisi without shaking hands.
President Sissi received the situation with laughter, and then a number of parliamentarians laughed, before Sisi gave his first speech about Egypt's vision to strengthen cooperation with the Japanese side.
The head of the department and the professor of Japanese studies at the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University, Adel Amin, explained to Masrawy the position presented to him by the Egyptian president, saying that peace in the state of Japan is bowing in front of the guest and the Japanese rarely hand peace to each other or to foreigners.
Adel said that sometimes the Japanese break the rule with peace on the sides of the hand, not the whole hand, but that is not in official institutions such as the Japanese parliament, which includes members of the elderly, maintain the tradition, especially that the Japanese parliament is a sacred place to implement the Constitution.
The Japanese professor of studies said that greeting is part of the Japanese cultural heritage, which is inherent to the Japanese as well as Japanese, but the handshake is not widespread, not only in Japan but also in Korea and China. .
In addition, Adel stressed that Sisi's visit is an official visit of the first place, while the State of Japan is active from the cultural and popular side in Egypt. Japan is the first to establish the Opera, as well as the Japanese language department at Cairo University. Cultural activity in Egypt, adding that activity from the Egyptian side in Japan is much less.
On his first visit to Japan, Sisi also witnessed the signing of a number of joint agreements between the two sides. He also expressed the appreciation of the Egyptian people for Japan's great civilization, citing the Japanese people who managed to achieve a high economic boom in a short time.
