Seven Azhar students arrested
Report of the Azhari Observatory for Rights and Freedoms on violations observed since the start of the study until the end of the second week at Al-Azhar University The new academic year at Al-Azhar University has seen a great deal of violations against students and their rights to express their views, affecting university life, university independence, and students' rights and freedoms. The study began with the arrest of 49 students during the first and second weeks, including 32 prisoners from inside the campus and 17 others from their homes. A number of students were arrested following activities organized by students against the coup. Police forces intervened to break up these demonstrations, which led to the arrest of a number of students, whether participants in the demonstration or non-participants, while the arrest of a number of other students from their homes We would like to point out that the campus of Al-Azhar University has become a camp for the police forces.
